The GreenHouse Recording Checklist:

Best Practices For Recording in Riverside on a Mac

Please review before your tech session and again before every recording session.

1. Download the Riverside App

https://riverside.com/mac-app

๐ŸŒฟ If you are unable to download the app, please follow instructions for Recording on a PC
It is highly encouraged that you use the app.

2. Check Camera Framing and Tracking

Make sure your camera is not zoomed in and not auto-tracking you. If the camera follows your movement, auto-tracking is on and should be turned off.

If youโ€™re using an Insta360 camera:

๐ŸŒฟ Download the Insta360 app

๐ŸŒฟ Connect your camera

๐ŸŒฟ Open the app and turn OFF Auto Tracking, Follow Mode, or AI Framing. If the camera is moving as you move, it is not turned off.ย

3. Set Your Mic Input to 75%

Even if Riverside sees your mic, your system volume may be too low.

๐ŸŒฟ System Settings โ†’ Sound โ†’ Input โ†’ Select your mic โ†’ Set input volume to about 75%

4. Open studio app and join

When you enter the studio, there are 3 dots in the upper right corner. Click and choose "join via link"

5. Enable Background Blur

This helps your video look cleaner and more professional.

In Riverside, hover over your self-view during the session. Click the small wand icon in the top corner and go to Blur > Full Blur.

6. Quick Session Prep!

๐ŸŒฟ Quit all other video or audio apps (Zoom, Slack, FaceTime, etc.)

๐ŸŒฟ Plug in your laptop (donโ€™t run on battery)

๐ŸŒฟ Restart your computer 15โ€“30 minutes before recording

๐ŸŒฟ Be close to your Wi-Fi router or use Ethernet

๐ŸŒฟ After the session ends, wait for Riverside to finish uploading before closing your browser tab
